GHCA exists to educate the mind for knowledge and to enlighten the spirit for wisdom in order to empower the next generation of godly leaders who will impact the world for Jesus Christ.
Being a teacher is one of the noblest professions in the world. By touching the lives of their students and inspiring them for greatness, they are literally helping to shape the future of our society. Teachers seem to have the innate ability to spot our weaknesses and identify our strengths. They appear to be able to expand our horizons and open the door to possibilities we never knew existed. All it takes is one teacher to connect with a child, and his life may never be the same again.
In fact, being a teacher is a multi-faceted role.
A teacher is a potter, who molds the potential in us into gifts that can bless all humanity. A teacher is an artist, who helps to paint our hopes and dreams into existence. A teacher is our guidance and support, who leads us on the right path, and stops us from straying.
Indeed, teaching is the profession that teaches all other professions.
Let us therefore not be afraid to show our gratitude and love for these very special people who help to shape our world and lead us towards greatness.
My hope is that the inspirational teacher quotes listed below will be able to remind us just how important our teachers are. Let them motivate our teachers to always give their best, and at the same time inspire us to learn to appreciate our teachers more and more.
For truly, teachers are the engineers of our future.

The Award-winning group, LEGACY FIVE, will be performing in concert at the Houlton Community Arts Center
(Houlton High School) on Saturday, June 23rd at 3:00 PM EST.
When the Legendary Cathedral Quartet retired in December of 1999, Scott Fowler and Roger Bennett decided to continue the rich musical tradition of Southern Gospel Quartet singing. Legacy Five was organized and had their official debut in January 2000 in Atlanta, Georgia. Since that day, they have made a major mark on the Southern Gospel Music world. Immediately audiences responded overwhelmingly to their four-part harmony and their ability to effectively communicate the message of Christ. Since the quartet's formation, they have established and maintained a firm place at the top of Christian music.

You can learn more about our teaching faculty by visiting the Teacher Feature section of our website. You'll learn all about our currently featured teacher as Mr. Zimmerman interviews him / her about various pastimes, interests, and other such things. The majority of our teachers now have a feature, accessible via the list of names on the menu bar on the Teacher Feature page.
You can also learn more about our teachers via their blogs. BLOG is short for "web log", and it's a very common way in the 21st Century for individuals to communicate their thoughts, plans, and in our case, what's happening in the classroom. Blogs are used by our teachers to keep parents in the loop. Please check our blog pages on a weekly basis to see what's new in your child's school life! If you have time, give your teacher some feedback on what he / she is sharing. Enjoy!
There is all sorts of exciting things happening these days at or related to GHCA, so much that we can't possibly put it all here on the homepage! Please check our Calendar Page and our Facebook Events Page to see what exciting events are planned for the coming weeks. If you have a GHCA-related event you'd like on the calendar, please contact the office.
GHCA has hosted a number of foreign students over the years, including students from Germany, Brazil, Korea, and Japan. To make the process easier for prospective foreign students who are seeking enrollment, we have a new International Student Page that provides links to the forms you'll need, details of our programs and the area, and even a photo album that details the activities of previous foreign students who have attended GHCA. If you are an international student and you are interested in what GHCA has to offer, check out our new page just for you!
Last year we received the exciting news that accreditation has been granted to the Academy for a ten year term by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), making it only the second Christian school in the state to become accredited. NEASC is the nation's oldest accrediting association and is the organization that accredits public and private schools in the New England area. We later received our ACSI accreditation, making us dual-accredited!
To learn more about the process, the results, and the importances of accreditation, please read our Head of School's blog. We also encourage you to watch the 2 minute news story that aired on the WAGM evening news on Tuesday, March 2nd. The video is located on our fan page (click the link to view).
State approval makes more options available to the school such as our teachers being able to satisfy state certification requirements in-house instead of having to go outside our school. State approval means a school is meeting certain basic standards of curriculum, safety, etc., but it does not in any way affect our ability to maintain our Christian distinctives, including the teaching of Bible, for example.
Following on the heels of the recent accreditation of the Academy, this is yet another affirmation to our parents and community that GHCA is a school parents can have confidence in. While we know the school has not "arrived" in any sense, we will continue to have a relentless focus on improvement. We can be grateful for God's blessing on the hard work of so many staff and families over the years.
